What languages do you speak?
I do consultations in English only. While I can pick up 90% of spoken Punjabi and around 75% of Hindi, that isn't enough to fully understand, nor can I convey ideas well enough in either to be effective.
Can we have an in-person consultation?
I live in Vancouver, Canada. If you are local and want to meet in-person instead of online, please get in touch and we can arrange that.
I see, you're Canadian. Do you accept e-transfer?
If you're Canadian and you want to pay by e-transfer, that is not a problem.
What is your approach to upaya (remedies)?
My philosophy is very conservative with respect to remedies. I would consider myself an originalist, as I do not believe in stretching the interpretation of what is written in the classics. If the solution that has been laid down in a text is to feed some brahmins, then we feed some brahmins. It would not be acceptable in my view to feed poor people as a substitute, even though it is a great thing to do.
Do you give gemstone recommendations?
No, I do not. This is a long subject, but the gist of it is that I believe wearing a particular gemstone is a double edged sword. It will usually give good and bad effects, and will therefore be effective for short time periods only, and that is if you are willing to put up with the negatives as well.
Do you offer any advice on spirituality?
In a word, no. Longer answer - solving life problems that are hindering progress sometimes involves activities that lead to becoming more spiritual. In fact, the process of realizing that we have done something that needs atonement (prayashcitta) is itself a precursor for spirituality. But the advice I give should not be conflated with any other practice you follow that has an impact on your internal evolution and path.
